A Fine French Directoire patinated bronze model of a rearing horse or stalion. Although very Empire and Neoclassical this item is from the Directiore period from the 18th century the period just before the First French Empire period began. French Circa: 1795-1800. Measuring: 10.25" high and 9" wide. Weight: 15 pounds.
Lost wax method of bronze casting. Hand chasing and chiseling of the surface. Original patina present and intact. |
