French Louis XV Bronze Ormolu Jardinieres Urns

Fine pair 18th century gilded bronze or Ormolu covered jardinieres. French, circa: 1725-1735. Measuring: 4" high by
4.5" wide. Weight: 8 pounds.
Each jardiniere having its own cover. The sides are fitted with classic circular
hanging rings.
Lost wax method of bronze casting. Hand chasing and chiseling of the surface. The ormolu is Mercury gilded with both Matt finish and highly burnished areas of highlight. Gilding is original and in tact. |
