1775-1795. Measuring: 3" wide by 2.25" deep by 1" high. A
wonderful and early snuff box showing the finest of Agate specimens.
This Hard stone example mounted in the cover of the box is stunning
and the light penetrates it displaying all the fine and varied hughes that
agate is known for. The Bronze work is Very crisp Sharp casting
using
the lost wax method of casting. Engraved with design work
exhibiting
floral sprays in each corner. It opens and closes with such precision
the maker must have
been a Jeweler. |
